Did you know including gelatin in your diet can have profound health effects? This is not a ticket to eat jello for breakfast or have dessert every night. There are healthier ways to incorporate it into your diet!
Gelatin is rich in collagen, which can help:
- Exercise recovery
- Decreased join pain
- Improved digestion
- Decrease inflammation
- Reduced allergies
- Improved autoimmunity
- Constipation, diarrhea relief
- Weight loss
Some of my favourite ways to increase collagen in my diet are to drink and cook with bone broth, add collagen to my coffee or tea, and to make gummies! Gummies are a great alternative to those on the go, children, or fussy eaters!
Recipe: Tart Cherry/Sleepytime Gummies
- 1c Tart Cherry Juice Concentrate
- 1 ¼ c water
- 5 Tbsps. gelatin
Mix together in a pot and under low heat, slowly stir and dissolve the gelatin. When the mixture is smooth and all gelatin is dissolved, remove from heat and add to silicone molds.
Set in fridge overnight, or freezer for a few hours.
Remove from molds, and store in a container in the fridge!
